Service Description
Focus: Mastering Attitude Instrument Flying (BIF) and learning navigation using the FMC/CDU and glass cockpit displays. Goal: Teach students to fly the jet using instruments only and introduce modern airline navigation tools. Stage 2 Introduction Stage 2 places students “in the clouds,” flying with no outside view. This builds disciplined instrument flying skills. Students also learn how to enter routes into the FMC/CDU and use LNAV/VNAV, the core tools of modern jet navigation. Lessons: - BIF I: The Control/Performance Concept - BIF II: Climbing, Descending & Partial Panel - VFR Navigation: The FMC/CDU & ND - Airport Operations & Communications Key Highlights: - Fly fully on instruments (IMC simulation) - Learn the Control/Performance method used by airline pilots - Handle unusual attitudes and partial panel conditions - Enter and follow simple routes in the FMC/CDU - Use LNAV/VNAV, heading select, and speed modes - Practice basic ATC-style communication and traffic pattern work Ideal For: - Students completing Stage 1 - Ages 11+ interested in cockpit technology - Adults wanting to understand IFR concepts - Student pilots preparing for future IFR training - STEM and aviation-focused learners
